24-hour retirement
Q: I am a singlehanded GP and will be 63 in January 2012. I tried to take 24-hour retirement and then go back to work last year, but it did not work out because our PCT was not agreeable to this. I also tried to merge with another local practice, but that did not work out either. I wonder if you will be able to advise me if I was to take a partner, and either retire or resign soon after that, would this be allowed according to the regulations?
