Calculating pension

Q: I keep hearing that from 2007/8 NHS pension dynamising factors are the inflation rate plus 1.5%. What is the inflation rate since 2007/8 to date? Can you work it out for me so that I can apply it to my income to work out my pension?

How to calculate your pensionable income

A: The easiest and most accurate way to identify your potential NHS pension entitlement is likely to be achieved by requesting an up-to-date statement of your benefits from NHS Pensions.

You can also ask for a full breakdown of your NHS pensionable service and earnings included. This should include details of the dynamisation (revaluation) factors used to date.
