Tool allows practices in England assess impact of 2017/18 GP contract on income

NHS Employers has produced a 'GMS Ready Reckoner' to enable practices in England to see how their income is likely to be affected by changes to the GMS contract that are due to be introduced from April 2017.

The spreadsheet focuses on changes to funding streams announced through the GMS contract negotiations for 2017/18. These include:

  • Changes to the MPIG correction factor, which is reduced again in 2017/18
  • Changes to seniority payments
  • The increase to the global sum and QOF
  • Ending the avoiding unplanned admissions DES, with the associated funding being reinvested in the global sum

Practices can download the Excel spreadsheet here
